The Collaborative Spanish Variant Server was created with the aim of providing the scientific and medical community with information on genetic variability within the Spanish population. The first version is built using exomes from unrelated healthy controls obtained from the CIBERER rare disease sequencing project; therefore, some variants associated with certain diseases may be overrepresented in the database.
Future versions will include data from controls specifically selected as healthy individuals. Nevertheless, this beta version is an excellent working tool that provides a representation of Spanish genetic variability, which will be highly useful for filtering polymorphisms and local variants.
This tool has been developed by the Bioinformatics for Rare Diseases group (BIER) and is available at the following link.
