Internationalization Programme

The Internationalization emerges as a joint action of the Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN), Rare Diseases (CIBERER) and Respiratory Diseases (CIBERES) research areas of the Biomedical Research Networking Center (CIBER). The Platform final goal is to coordinate and reinforce the efforts devoted to promote the participation of ours researchers in the European Framework programs and to create a common structure to drive the internationalization and leadership of the research and innovation within the three thematic areas.

The main objectives of the platform are:

  • To increase the participation levels of the CIBER_BBN/ER/RES research groups in international collaborative projects and programs.
  • To promote Scientific Excellence and Internationalization of the research groups within the BBN, ER and RES areas.
  • To improve the influence capacities at international levels in collaborative European structures.
  • To improve the return levels of the efforts made by CIBER_BBN/ER/RES in internationalization programs.

Collaborate with CIBER-BBN/ER/RES

The Biomedical Research Networking Center in their thematic areas of Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN), Rare Diseases (CIBERER) and Respiratory Diseases (CIBERES) constitute 3 research consortiums created under the leadership of the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII). The networking structure of CIBER allows to bring together the best basic science, clinical and epidemiological researches from Universities, Healthcare and Research centers. Within their Biomaterials, Respiratory and Rare Diseases areas the CIBER groups more than 140 research groups and more than a thousand of professionals.

Our technology offer includes a wide plethora of areas including:

  • Bioengineering, Biomaterials and Nanomedicine (CIBER-BBN). Bioengineering, Medical Imaging, Biomaterials, Advanced Therapies (Cell Therapy, Gene Therapy, Tissue Engineering) and Nanomedicine.
  • Rare Diseases (CIBERER). Focused on Genetic Medicine, Inherited Metabolic Medicine, Mitochondrial and Neuromuscular Medicine , Pediatric and Developmental Medicine, Neurosensorial Pathology, Endocrine Medicine and Hereditary Cancer and Related Syndromes.
  • Respiratory Diseases (CIBERES). Focused in the study of Asthma, Sleep Apnea, Lung Cancer, COPD, Pulmonary Fibrosis, Acute Lung Injury, Pneumonia, Pathogen - Host Interactions, Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Hypertension.

Support for researchers associated with CIBER-BBN / ER / RES

The Internationalization supports researchers during the application phase to European programs making available a helpdesk service. The helpdesk service is created to support researchers in finding partners, strategic alignment of the proposal and a budget review. If you need help during project application please contact us:
